Alcohol and prostate cancer, what you need to know.
Alcohol and prostate cancer? Alcohol is one of the things most of the men love but it is also known to be a risk factor for breast cancer and at least seven other types of cancers of the digestive system. It’s also suggested that alcohol consumption may increase the risk of cancers of the pancreas, skin, and prostate. But there are still some unresolved questions that remain in the underlying science.
In collaboration, Canadian and Australian researchers found a significant association between alcohol and prostate cancer risk, yet they did not prove that drinking caused prostate cancer risk to rise.
Even moderate or low levels of drinking (up to two drinks a day) were associated with an 8 to 23 % higher risk of prostate cancer when compared to no drinking.
