Manliness

This concept is very simple: strive for excellence and virtue in all areas of life, developing the full potential as a man, and being the best brother, friend, husband, father, and citizen you may be.

This task is accomplished by cultivating virtues such as:

  • Courage
  • Loyalty
  • Industriousness
  • Resiliency
  • Resolution
  • Responsibility
  • Self-esteem
  • Integrity
  • Sacrifice
  • Honesty
  • Generosity
  • Persistence
  • Determination
  • Patience

These virtues make a male become a real man, it also makes a man to be valued and achieved by anyone, in any situation. From the soldier to the employee of a corporation, from firefighter to dad he stays at home.

Although there are different values of masculinity, some of those characteristics have been celebrated by hundreds of different cultures in very different times in history; some of the ideals of manliness have varied through the ages and people. This is because often these traces of masculinity were based on transient aspects of each culture. For many ancient cultures, being a man was closely related to being a warrior. But was this a concept very specific restricted manliness and it did not resist the onslaught of the peacetime.
